Luca Contrino joined our team on March 8 after experiences in the European Commission (DG REGIO and DG DEVCO), the NGO sector as well as the private sector.

Find here the long-awaited official reply by EU Agriculture Commissioner Wojciechowski to our joint letter of 10 avril that was written with various organisations representative of the sector.

 AREFLH has not spared any efforts to keep the attention of the Commission, EU Parliament and Member States on the difficult situation of the sector since March and following-up on our joint letter of 10 April. These efforts have continued throughout and up to this day at various levels and in various forms of cooperation within our Task force.  

September 2020

AREFLH and Freshfel Europe held their online Joint 2020 Annual Event on the 29 September 2020, examining key challenges ahead for the European fresh fruit and vegetable sector amid this unprecedented period. The Joint 2020 Annual Event focused on the pertinent theme ‘The Road Ahead – A Sector Fit for Future Challenges’. Speakers from the European Commission, the European Parliament and specialist market analysis discussed the EU’s policy priorities and the current changing market conditions affecting the sector in the short and long term.

On the 27^th of March 2019, the annual meeting of AREFLH, the association of European fruit and vegetable regions and producers, was held in Bordeaux, at the headquarters of the Nouvelle Aquitaine region. This year's meeting, coinciding with the end of the mandate of the ex-Regional Minister of the Emilia Romagna Region, which began in 2016, had the objective of renewing all mandates, from the Presidency to the Board of Directors, for a new three-year term.
