At this strategic time, the AREFLH is closing today in Brussels its event devoted to agricultural policy in the new European legislature.
Today, the Assembly of European Fruit, Vegetable, and Horticultural Regions (AREFLH) marked a new stage with its Annual Forum. The first edition was crowned by a high level of participation from producer organisations and horticultural regions, enabling a constructive exchange with numerous representatives of European institutions.

This event, designed as an opportunity for active dialogue and exchange, will bring together representatives from the regions, sector professionals, and European institutions.

Interpera 2024 records a particularly high attendance and receives backing from Portugal's agriculture minister

AREFLH is the main organiser of Interpera, the international pear congress since its beginnings in 2028.
This year 2024, it was held in Portugal on 26 and 27 June, saw the largest number of participants in the last 10 years. Around 200 producers, researchers , national and international companies from the sector gathered in the Oeste region, the cradle of Rocha pear production, to discuss the challenges and opportunities of pear production, in a rare opportunity to network and exchange multicultural business experiences.

AREFLH General Assembly: a day of reflection on the challenges and prospects for agriculture in Europe

As part of its General Assembly meeting, AREFLH (the Assembly of Horticultural Regions) organised a public conference in Central Macedonia to discuss the changes underway in Europe regarding the CAP and the new strategic horizon for the agricultural sector.

AREFLH shares some innovative water management initiatives in agriculture in Europe

On 1st February, AREFLH organised a hybrid conference on the use of water in agriculture at the Committee of the Regions in Brussels. The event brought together a large number of stakeholders from the sector: political decision-makers, project leaders, researchers, technical directors, agronomists, consultants, etc.
The panel of speakers, composed of representatives of institutions (Committee of the Regions, European Commission, Regions), scientists and experts, aimed to advance the debate on the serious water situation in Europe and its impact on the agricultural sector.

AREFLH focuses on the draft regulation on packaging and the new CAP

Within the framework of its General Assembly, AREFLH organised on 23 March a public conference on the new CAP and the European regulation on packaging, in Lleida, in Catalan region.
This event was an opportunity to detail the sensitive issues and dossiers that accompany the implementation of the new CAP and the Green Deal

AREFLH strengthens its representativeness through participation in the EU CAP Network and Civil Dialogue Groups
In february 2023 AREFLH has been included in the EU CAP Network and is also joining 5 Civil Dialogue Groups of the EU AGRI Commission.
It is with great satisfaction that AREFLH members, present in 10 countries in Europe, have welcomed the association's participation in the EU CAP Network, a forum that brings together the previous networks for rural development (ENRD) and for research and innovation (EIP). This network works as an expert group of the European Commission, its aim is to bring together CAP stakeholders in order to increase dialogue, direct contacts and information exchange.

AREFLH and its members look at the new CAP and packaging regulation
Within the framework of its general assembly on 23 March 2023 in Lérida, Catalonia, AREFLH is organising a public conference on the new CAP and the future European regulation on packaging.
For more than 20 years, the AREFLH (Assembly of European Horticultural Regions) has been actively defending the economic and social interests of the regions and producers to the European institutions. Each year the General Assembly and its public conference take place in a member region. This year the event will be hosted by the region of Catalonia in partnership with Afrucat, an association of Catalan producers also a member of AREFLH.
