Les applications pour smartphones peuvent désormais aider à diagnostiquer et détecter les ravageurs et les maladies dans les cultures.
L'AREFLH est partenaire de SmartProtect, un réseau thématique axé sur le partage interrégional des connaissances sur la lutte intégrée intelligente contre les parasites des légumes. Dans ce cadre, nous présentons les innovations choisies par le projet, comme par exemple les applications d'aide au diagnostic
Les applications pour smartphones peuvent désormais tirer parti des caméras téléphoniques haute résolution pour diagnostiquer et détecter les ravageurs et les maladies dans les cultures. Dans la culture du concombre, les applications Xarvio scouting, Plantix et Agrio peuvent être utilisées pour la détection de nombreux ravageurs et maladies.

AREFLH is a partner of SmartProtect project, SMART agriculture for innovative vegetable crop PROTECTion: harnessing advanced methodologies and technologies. Among others, the project tackled the subject of pest and disease diagnosis in cucumber cultivation via the mobile apps Xarvio scouting, Plantix and Agrio.
Xarvio scouting allows for the detection of Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus, Cucumber mosaic virus, Downy mildew, Powdery mildew, Gummy stem blight, Anthracnose of curcubits, Angluar leaf spot disease, Tobacco Mosaic Virus, Spider mite, Thrips, Whitefly, Cucumber beetle, Aphids and Red Pumpkin Beetle.
Plantix can detect many of the pests and diseases mentioned as well as Leaf blight of Curcubits, Cucumber scab, Bacterial wilt and many more.
Agrio also has a vast library including leafminers, mealybugs and more.
These applications use machine learning algorithms and AI that learn from huge data sets of images that are uploaded to them every day. After diagnosis, each application will offer advice and treatment recommendations. They also provide pest and disease alerts for if any have been detected in the local area of the user. Although currently they are not 100% accurate, these technologies provide huge potential in making scouting operations more accessible and efficient in cucumber cultivation.
