NUTRIMAN : the final project meeting on biofertilisers

The final project meeting of the NUTRIMAN project “NUTRIent management and Nutrient Recovery Thematic Network” was held on September 13 and 14 through videoconference

The meeting aimed to present a general overview of the final results of the activities carried out during the thirty-six months of the project.

During the meeting, the results of the organic fertiliser survey activity have presented. That is was a participatory approach that has involved end-users from the beginning, which has ensured a greater willingness to adopt the results of the demonstration tests. During the project period, semi-structured individual interviews have conducted with end-users by region and type of agricultural production. The interviews provided information on the willingness of farmers and how they adapt the practices, products and technologies in the Farmer platform.

In addition, the 25 mature N & P recovery technologies and products that have been selects from more than 100 existing N & P recovery technologies and products from 27 European countries have been presents during the meeting. The selected technologies and products were translated into eight languages and published on Booklet, which is available for consultation on the project webpage.

The NUTRIMAN Farmers Platform will be available for the long term of ten years beyond the project period >2031 and use the main trusted dissemination channels that farmers consult most often and also serve educational/training purposes.

An active follow-up and expansion of the NUTRIMAN project from October 2021 until 2031 will be implemented and managed by the coordinator Edward Someus.

NUTRIMAN is a thematic network of nitrogen and phosphorus nutrient management and recovery, which is compiling practice-ready knowledge. The innovative fertilisers hosted in the farmers' platform are produced from unexploited resources of organic or secondary raw materials in line with the circular economy model.
