EGEA_2008The Fruits and Vegetables Summit organized by EGEA (International Conference on the health benefits of fruits and vegetables) and IFAVA (International Alliance for Fruits and vegetables) with the co-sponsoring of the WHO (World Health Organization), the participation of the European Commission, as well as the support of the Ministry for Agriculture and Fisheries and the permanent Delegation of France with Unesco.

The 2008 Fruits and Vegetables Summit aimed at gathering more than 500 high-level international specialists, practitioners from the public health, representatives of the sector of fruits and vegetables and decision-makers.

Their exchanges allowed on one hand to clarify the mechanisms by which the consumption of fruits and vegetables contributes to reduce the risk of not contagious diseases, and on the other hand, to strengthen the knowledge on the effective and suited strategies to increase the fruits and vegetables consumption.

The AREFLH, as partner, had participated in the interventions within the framework of experiences sharing and transmission of information with member regions. It proposed a tasting of fruits and vegetables on the breaks occasion during 3 days.
